Karnali Provincial Assembly Secretariat Secretary Jeevraj Budhathoki has been found to have appointed his wife as his personal secretary. Since Secretary Budhathoki was appointed to the Provincial Assembly Secretariat, he has been receiving Rs. 2.5 million 560 from his wife as his personal secretary.

The Provincial Assembly Secretariat has informed that a monthly salary of Rs. 34,730 is being paid to Mrs. Rukmina Budhathoki.

‘Rukmina Budhathoki is said to be the secretary’s personal secretary, an employee of the secretariat said, ‘I don’t know where she is, who she is, she goes to the bank account that the secretary has given.’

When we talked to Budhathoki about this matter, he admitted that he had appointed his wife as his personal secretary. ‘It was not an illegal appointment as it is being said. The authority given by law has been used,’ he said.

According to him, Rukmina's attendance has been regular for the two years since her appointment. The attendance sheet he provided to Kantipur shows her attendance till Chaitra 3.

In response to Kantipur's question, he said, 'That is a misconception. Look at the attendance sheet I provided. You will understand.'

Although Rukmina's regular attendance is shown in the attendance sheet, the statement of the office employee is different. An office employee says, 'The secretary himself records attendance and gets paid. We have never seen the person he appointed in the office.'

In this regard, Budhathoki claims that his opponents have spread confusion to trap him. But Budhathoki's work is unusual, according to office employees. He also said that he does not inform other employees about the work of the office. An office source says, 'Other employees do not know about any work.' Even when complaints are made to the authority repeatedly, the secretary himself personally sends the documents and gives the requested answers. We are not informed about the work and other work done in the provincial assembly for the past 6 years.'
