Despite limited resources and structural challenges, about 50,000 citizens receive health services daily through the health insurance program. And the average daily expenditure of Rs 80 million from the pockets of the common citizen is being ensured, the board has stated.

The Health Insurance Act, 2074 and Regulations, 2075 and other policy provisions have envisaged the program as the backbone of the social health security system, the board has stated. The board has stated that it is committed to making the health insurance program stronger, more systematic, effective and citizen-friendly.
