The corneal transplantation service has been started at the hospital under the leadership of the hospital's chief corneal specialist Dr. Bhairaja Shrestha, the hospital's director and chairman, Bishwaraj Gautam, has informed. He said that corneal transplantation is an effective treatment method for restoring vision and if treated on time, there is a high chance that the patient will regain his sight.
With the availability of corneal transplantation services in Birgunj, patients in this area will no longer have to go elsewhere to get such services, said corneal specialist Dr. Manish Khatiwada.
