The foundation's founding chairperson, Prof. Dr. Madhu Dixit Devkota, informed that a health checkup and awareness rally (Prabhatpheri) was organized in collaboration with Lalitpur Metropolitan City and Upendra Devkota Memorial National Institute of Neurological and Allied Sciences with the aim of raising public awareness about stroke in the community.

She said that the program was organized on Wednesday to raise public awareness about stroke, which is the third leading cause of death in Nepal, and to reduce its risk.

The morning procession that started from Patan Durbar Square area reached Durbar Square via Lagankhel Bus Park. Miss Nepal World 2025 Luna Luintel, Miss Nepal Cosmo 2025 Deepshikha Nepal, Lalitpur Metropolitan City public representatives, employees, representatives of various organizations and locals participated in the event.

World Stroke Day, which is being celebrated on October 29, was celebrated this year with the slogan 'Bringing Stroke Advocacy and Awareness Together to Drive Action One Stroke'.

Neurologist Dr. Ghanshyam Kharel informed about stroke, its risks and prevention measures in the program.

Miss Nepal World 2025 Luna Luintel said that young people are also at risk of stroke, which is said to occur after becoming senior citizens, and said that efforts should be made to control it in time.

Milan Gurung, Chief Executive Officer of Upendra Devkota Memorial National Institute of Neurological and Allied Sciences, expressed gratitude for the support provided by various organizations including Lalitpur Metropolitan City and said that they would continue to cooperate in the coming days.

The foundation had earlier conducted medical education on stroke for about 155 doctors working in Pokhara, a 2-day free health camp benefiting about 1,500 people in Gorkha, a 2-day free health camp benefiting about 1,600 people in Chanauli, Chitwan, Nepal-Bharat Maitri Uma Shankarnath Memorial Children's Hospital in Dang, a 2-day free health camp benefiting 771 people in Sarra, and public awareness programs on stroke at various places. Recently, Nepal Police, Central Office Naxal and Armed Police Force, Central Office Halchowk, had sensitized police officers and personnel on brain injury.

The foundation, established on Tuesday, Falgun 2, 2079, has already completed Neurocon-1 in 2023 with the participation of about 250 neuroscientists and Neurocon-2 in 2025 with the participation of about 500 neuroscientists.
