The Minister of Health and Population of the Federal Government, Pradeep Paudel, has directed to provide free treatment to the diarrhea and cholera patients who come to Narayani Hospital. He gave these instructions during a discussion program with hospital staff and stakeholders held at Narayani Hospital in Birganj on Monday.

"Diarrhea and cholera patients coming for treatment at Narayani Hospital should not have to pay any kind of fee," he said.

Stating that all three levels of the government will be committed to prevent shortage of medicine during the disaster, Minister Paudel said that he is also working hard to prevent shortage of manpower in hospitals in the affected areas. He also asked private hospitals to show humanity in times of crisis.

'The ministry provides kits to private hospitals,' he said, 'It also provides other medicines, for that the patients had to be exempted from treatment, everyone should help in times of disaster.' Minister Poudel said that it is a matter of concern that the cause of the outbreak of cholera in Birganj is still not discovered.
