Nepal Medical Association has started a protest against the decision of the consumer court. On the call of the union, all services other than emergency have been closed in health institutions across the country on Monday.
The consumer court awarded compensation to three hospitals and doctors. Last June, the court decided to pay compensation of 57 lakh 19 thousand rupees to Grandi City Hospital and doctors in the complaint filed by the woman alleging negligence in treatment.
Om Hospital in Chabahil was ordered to pay Rs 50 lakh 70 thousand and the doctor was ordered to pay Rs 6 lakh 10 thousand in the case of negligence in treatment . Similarly, it was decided that the death of the patient was due to negligence in the treatment, and the Himal Hospital and the doctor involved in the treatment of the patient were found guilty and the hospital and the doctor should pay a compensation of 145 million rupees .
It was decided that the hospital should pay 70 percent and the doctor involved in the treatment should pay 30 percent of the compensation . The union has been protesting against the court's decision step by step. The association has said that not only will all services except emergency services be stopped in health institutions across the country on Monday, June 23, but doctors will submit the Nepal Medical Council certificate to the council on Tuesday, June 24.
