The health sector budget has been increased. For the next financial year 2082/83, the government has allocated a budget of 95 billion 81 million rupees. In the previous fiscal year 2081/82, the Ministry of Health was allocated 86 billion 24 million rupees.
In the joint meeting of the Federal Parliament, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel presented the annual budget of revenue and expenditure for the year 2082/83 and informed that a budget of 10 billion rupees has been allocated for the health insurance program.
According to him, the health insurance program will be restructured. It is said that the scope of health insurance will be expanded with the effective implementation of the legal system. In the previous year, a budget of Rs 7.5 billion was allocated for the health insurance program.
Finance Minister Paudel has said that the benefit package of the insured will be gradually increased, the social health security program will be integrated into the health insurance, the benefits of different plans will be provided to the insured and duplication will be removed to prevent abuse of insurance facilities.
Similarly, Finance Minister Paudel also informed that the pending payment claim amount will be examined by a third party and arrangements will be made for payment within one year.
