A 100-bed trauma and emergency center with modern facilities is going to be constructed in Dhulikhel Hospital. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of this center, which is being built in collaboration with the Government of Nepal and the Government of Japan, on Wednesday.

Prof. Dr. Ramkanth Makazule, the executive director of the hospital, said through a press conference that an agreement has been reached between the Japan International Cooperation Agency and the Ministry of Finance to invest 3.879 billion Japanese yen for the construction of the trauma center. informed.

According to him, the Ministry of Health and Population will be the executive body of this project and Dhulikhel Hospital will be the implementing body. This center, which will be built with the goal of completion by 2027, aims to provide state-of-the-art services to injured and emergency patients in the areas of Kavre, Ramechhap, Dolakha, Sindhupalchok, Sindhuli, Bhaktapur and Terai road network, he said. It is hoped that the construction of the

center will be able to provide timely treatment to patients through the use of equipment such as MRI, City Scan, ventilator, and X-ray. He said that the new initiative that is about to start in this hospital, which has been providing quality health services for three decades, is expected to make a great contribution to the health security of the eastern hilly region.  

Dhulikhel Hospital had introduced the concept of trauma center since 2014. Orthopedic surgeon Prof. Dr. said that the construction of a trauma center in the hospital is inevitable in the context of the increasing rate of death and serious injuries due to vehicle accidents. Deepak Shrestha said.
