Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel has emphasized that the government should change its priorities and proceed effectively to reduce tuberculosis.
Addressing a program held in Bhaktapur on Monday, he said that there is a need to change the priorities of the government so far and proceed in a new and effective way. In addition, he mentioned that it is necessary to adopt a common policy of cooperation with friendly countries to solve this problem.
He pointed to the situation where 100 percent achievements have not been achieved even though the expenditure is being spent, and now it is necessary to make policy arrangements to achieve full achievements. He promised that it is necessary to run the hospital so that all the services are available at the tuberculosis center and for that, arrangements will be made in the budget of the next financial year.
Minister Paudel said, 'a hospital where all services related to tuberculosis will be available should be put into operation. We will allocate the necessary budget in the next financial year and implement it.'
Minister Paudel said that tuberculosis patients are not only found by the ministry or doctors, but that there is a need for the local municipalities to be active and identify tuberculosis patients.
In addition, he emphasized that the local level should be mobilized more effectively to detect tuberculosis. He said, 'There are a total of 753 municipalities in Nepal, according to which 149 municipalities are only one part of five parts. A clear policy is needed on how to take the rest of the municipality forward.'
