The CT Hospital in the capital Gulria has been operating illegally for seven months. Even after getting the information that the hospital is operating without registration, the regulatory body is silent.

There is a legal system to register, operate and manage basic hospitals with up to 25 beds from the local level. But CT Hospital has not got any such permission from Gularia Municipality.

The 15-bed hospital submitted an application to the municipality for registration on February 19, 2018. But  Shivkumar Choudhary, head of Public Health of Gularia Municipality, said that the permission for operation was not given because the hospital did not follow the necessary procedures. The hospital has been operating since 081 July. Dr. Mukesh Jha, the owner of the

hospital, said that he has submitted documents to the municipality for hospital registration, but it has not been registered yet. On the other hand, the Public Health Office, Bardia, said that an investigation has been started regarding the operation of the hospital without registration.

Public Health Administrator Narayan Chaudhary said that information was received a few days ago regarding the illegally operating hospital and an investigation has been started. He said that necessary decisions will be taken after investigating the issue of hospitals operating without registration. According to

sources, some employees, including three contractual doctors working at the hospital, have quit. Dr. Smriti Karki complained that the director of the hospital, Dr. J, did not pay the salary in full. She has also resigned from the hospital.

Some employees complained that they have not even received their monthly salary for 3/4 months. In this regard, the director, Dr. Jha, said that due to the lack of funds from outside, the payment of wages was delayed.
