Health Minister Pradeep Paudel has said that he is ready to make policies and rules if necessary to systematically advance the work of raising public awareness about kidney disease.
In a friendly football competition between kidney transplant groups and doctors, artists, and politicians held on the eve of World Kidney Day, he said that public awareness can be raised through textbooks for children and campaigns for senior citizens about the cause of kidney failure.
Shahid Dharmabhakta National Human Organ Transplantation Center Bhaktapur led the competition ended in a 2-2 draw. The center has organized the competition to convey the message that kidney patients can live like normal people.
Dr. Pukar Shrestha, director of Martyr Dharmabhakta National Human Organ Transplantation Center, said that kidney disease can be treated if it can be identified in time. He urged everyone to check their health from time to time for this.
