Nepal Voluntary Blood Donor Society has submitted a memorandum to Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakashman Singh demanding to provide free blood.

Premsagar Karmacharya, central president of the society and the highest blood donor in Nepal, said that the memorandum was submitted because of the government's policy of providing/distributing/distributing human blood and blood components prepared from human blood for free.

The society said that taking more money in the name of blood test fee has put a huge financial burden on poor patients. The society has also requested the government to declare the annual National Volunteer Blood Donor Day on January 15 as the National Volunteer Blood Donor Day.
