With the expansion of the Prithviraj Highway, to reduce the increasing number of traffic accidents, dangerous places will be identified in Tanahun section.
Chief District Officer Ramakrishna Adhikari informed that based on the number of road accidents that have increased with the expansion of the highway, five major risky places are going to be identified. "Because of the increase in accidents in Tanahun section due to Muglin Pokhara road which is under expansion, five major risky places have been identified to reduce accidents," he said.
The meeting of the District Coordination Committee for Highway Safety and Obstacle Removal at the District Administration Office Tanahun said that Muglin-Pokhara Road Extension Project (East) and (West) Sections have been instructed to identify risky places and study the technical aspects and adopt the necessary measures for improvement in coordination with the District Traffic Police Office. According to him, the action plan 2082 with the group roster to remove the obstacles on the highway prepared by District Administration Office Tanahun has been approved.
He said, "After analyzing the comparative situation of the most accident-prone areas in the Tanahun section of the Prithviraj Highway, it has been decided to take necessary measures to reduce accidents as per the suggestions of the stakeholders." After the four-lane road was put into operation in most parts of this section, the traffic accidents are increasing significantly and such accidents are happening more in certain places of the road, so it seems that short-term and long-term solutions to the problem should be found, Pragya officials said.
Meanwhile, the District Administration Office Tanahun has requested not to travel at night except for emergencies and if necessary, travel in coordination with the nearest traffic police and security agencies. As it is rainy season, the office has requested everyone to travel at night only by taking necessary safety precautions. Administrative officer of
office, Bikas Shrestha, issued a notice on Wednesday and requested to take high caution when driving vehicles on local rural roads including Prithviraj Marg, Dumre Besi Sahar road section, not to exceed the specified speed while driving, and to understand the condition of the road to the destination as the roads may be obstructed due to floods and landslides during rainy season.
Similarly, District Administration Office Tanahun has started an initiative to reduce accidents in Ambukhaireni rural municipality-2 Ainapahara road section. After the
of the bus accident last Sunday, backing from the parking lot of Ainapahara Park, the office has started initiatives to prevent accidents from happening in the near future. "Since the parking lot of Ainapahara is higher than the road, there is a possibility that the vehicles may back off in some cases," he said. .
Similarly, the road division office has been instructed to coordinate with the traffic police to update the necessary traffic signals and maintain confidence blocks on the side of the road, he said. He said, "Ambukhaireni rural municipality has been instructed to secure the land near Ainapahara Park and make it safe."
