Video sharing app TikTok has released a list of the most searched content creators, athletes, places, TV shows, songs, and foods from Nepal in the year 2025.

Social media platform TikTok has released a list of the most searched words in Nepal in 2025. The list, which captures user interests and search behavior, indicates that TikTok ‘search’ is becoming a reliable medium for everything from entertainment to daily life decisions. Umais Naveed, Content Operations Lead, TikTok South Asia, said that TikTok ‘search’ in Nepal is no longer limited to just watching videos.
‘The most searched topics this year show that Nepalis want to learn and know something new,’ TikTok said in a statement, ‘TikTok is used to find new places and plan trips, and have fun. In addition, it also reflects the current interests of Nepalis, which include famous artists, dramas, viral songs and music, and topics that are being discussed on social media.’ According to
TikTok, in 2025, showbiz celebrities Priyanka Karki, Rajesh Hamal, Swastima Khadka, Rekha Thapa, and Madan Krishna Shrestha were searched for the most on TikTok. The company claims that TikTok search is growing as a useful search medium for real life. It includes searches for everything from ingredients needed for Dashain-Tihar and Teej to cooking recipes.
‘TikTok search is becoming an important part of daily life in Nepal,’ said Umais Naveed, Content Operations Lead, TikTok South Asia. ‘People these days are not just watching videos, they are looking for information, recommendations and context in real time.’ He said TikTok is being used as a platform to follow the latest sports events, plan weekend trips, learn new things or even read reviews before shopping.
‘This year’s top searches clearly show that TikTok is connecting Nepalis with culture, community and everyday curiosities,’ said Naveed. As 2025 comes to an end, the top TikTok searches in Nepal show that this year is full of collective celebrations, everyday life interests and creator-centric searches, the statement said.
The most searched TikTok creators include Simple Kharel, Ashma Bishwakarma, Rachana Rimal, Anmol KC and Ana Sharma.
The most searched players are Samba, Bimal Gharti Magar, Dipendra Singh Airi, Mbappe and Messi. The most searched places are Mustang, Manang, North Annapurna Base Camp, Pashupatinath Temple and Bhimsensthan Temple. The most searched TV shows or dramas are Bigg Boss, Paran (Movie), Jerry on Top (Movie), Jaari 2 (Movie) and Roadies Season 7.
The most searched trending moments are Teej, Kukur Tihar, Miss Grand Nepal, Routine of Nepal Band and NPL Season 2. The most searched songs/soundtracks are ‘Thumak Thumak Janiye Mahiye De Naal’, ‘Ice Cream Khaungi Kashmir Jaungi’, ‘Maya Garun La’ (John Chamling), ‘Wakk Gyaing Sansar’ and ‘Sari Liar Aaen Bhane’. 
The most searched foods/recipes include Hatkyula Fruit, Steam Chicken Recipe, Celery Roti Recipe, Singada Recipe and Pakku Recipe.
Similarly, the page that provides information through social media ‘Routine of Nepal Band’ also appears in the top list of searches.
