90-year-old Bhojraj Shrestha does not look tired despite his age. He is still walking with the dreams of his youth, hustle and ambition for change. The new generation is also following the same dreams and aspirations.

Once upon a time, Bhojraj, who bravely went out to hunt with a gun in his hand, would return home with a victorious smile.

At that time, he used to get the happiness of living life. But while walking to play hunting, the hunter inside him melted.  And, melting and melting turned into a tender heart .

Then, putting down the gun forever, he went against the prey. Stand up for the protection of the lives of animals. Bhojraj, who won everyone's respect during the hunt, then became the character of Khissituri . Tolerate words as sharp as the gun he fired yesterday.

but never gained a foothold in his journey, nor did he let his step waver . Because of that struggle, sadhana and dream, he was given a name as dear as a reward - Guleli Baje . Small children, youths or tourists all know him with love and reverence as 'Guleli Baje'.

Who saved the dolphins by collecting shells There was a time when dolphins jumped and shot with a gun during Kailali's bhajani . Flying birds were weeded . Bhojraj started filling awareness among children and youth by collecting shells. Since then everyone calls him by the name of 'Guleli Baje'.

Bhojraj was born in Doti. Later Kailali Jhare . At that time, his routine was spent playing hunting. He bought a gun to kill birds and animals.

With the introduction of panchayat system in Nepal, cooperatives were considered common at that time . Bhojraj used to work together on Kailali's bhajani. The USAID-funded organization used to have American experts from time to time for capacity building. One of those experts was a friend of American Bhojraj.

That friend was fond of hunting . The moment of helping those Americans to hunt around 025 years is deep in Bhojraj's mind. That friend used to come in a helicopter to play hunting . He used to meet Bhojraj by keeping a helicopter in Bhajani.

Once he wanted to eat boar meat . He went to the forest with Bhojraj to hunt boar. "I saved him from the attack of a wild boar, which was injured while hunting," Bhojraj remembers that moment.

That same American friend came to play hunting again . Bhojraj took him to Bhajani's river and said, "There are jumping fish". You have to hunt for it.' The American friend who was shocked to hear that said, 'There is also a jumping fish ? I will reward you if found.'

After reaching the river, the friend pointed a gun . After a while, the 'jumping fish' came. According to the hunting rules, the guests were allowed to fire first. ``A jumping fish was seen . It was very big . But he didn't fire,' he remembers, 'instead he fired the gun.' That was the first time the friend said, 'This is not a jumping fish, it is a very rare dolphin.'

Bhojraj heard the name of the dolphin for the first time. ``This is your destiny,'' he said, telling the importance of dolphins on the way back, ``You have to protect it.''

The suggestion of an American friend took root in Bhojraj's mind. Then he started reading dolphin books. After knowing the beauty, nature and importance of the previously mysterious jumping fish  Bhojra grew to love dolphins.

Before that, children and young people used to wait for 'jumping fish' in the river while walking. When the water was visible outside . Guleli used to strike . Now that blow started to hurt Bhojraj's heart too . He began to take the bullets from the hands that were attacking the dolphins .

plans to open dolphin clubs . Awareness campaign thought . In the beginning, there were no supporters in his campaign. Instead there were those who mocked him .

Once Bhojraj was having tea in a village hotel.  The people around said, 'The dolphin came, the dolphin!' They inquired, 'Where did it come?' Pointing to the place where he was sitting, it was said, 'He is sitting and drinking tea in Gupta's hotel.'

Bhojraj went to school and started sharing awareness with the students. Dolphins used to come during rainy season. Children used to wear nisana . Dolphins would not die after being hit by a slingshot, but they would get hurt . I started a club to save dolphins in school, made members,' says Bhojraj.

Jaiprasad Dhungana, who became a member of the club for the first time, is now known as a dolphin conservationist. He says, 'We followed the path of Sarkai and reached here.' In the memory of Jaiprasad of

Bhajani-8, they passed due to lack of space. 'Sir used to say - your future is this dolphin . If the dolphins are saved, tourists will come here tomorrow . The face of the village changes,' he says.

Not only dolphins, Bhojraj taught to plant trees, taught to save birds. Gradually, dolphins became an important part of learning for the Jayaprasads. Bhojraj Dhungana, who became a member of the club along with Jay Prasad, is now a dolphin conservationist. At that time, sir used to say - Father, you should go. Later, the opposite happens here,' he says.

'Guleli Baje' made many attempts to release the Guleli from the hands of small children . He used to remind - 'birds like you also have fathers and mothers . They go out to forage for their children. If you kill them, the children will be alone, they will starve to death.' Farmers were distressed due to premature drying of grain crops. Gulelibaje used to look for the reason, "The reason for the drying up of the grain crops is because of the killing of birds."

how? He used to explain- 'It is dried up after being eaten by insects . The birds ate the insects, and the insects could not eat the crops . If there are no insect-eating birds...!'

The sense that birds should not be killed in this way was gradually spreading in the village. Bhojraj says that the media also had a big hand in helping this campaign. During the

campaign, there was news about this in Gorkhapatra . Immediately after the news, Bhojraj was criticized in the reader's response, "Why are you propagating this wrong thing?" If there are really dolphins in Nepal, take 10 photos and send them. There is no dolphin.'

In Gorkhapatra, his son Vijayraj printed a rebuttal in 059, 'If you are really against it, come here and see it.'

He remembers,

Kantipur wrote regularly - 10 bullets were collected today.

wrote that it reached 62 after three days . Bhojraj says, "Until I wrote down that I had collected 200 shells, the reverse happened." When the armed war was going on, a Maoist leader jokingly said, 'Bhojraj Shrestha walks around collecting bullets, we are guns.' In 2063, a dolphin festival was held in Kailali. The festival got good publicity all over the country. Knowing that, a foreign tourist came to the village .   He praised the campaign . At that time, the foreign tourist said to his son Vijayraj, "I saw four dolphins within a few seconds of my arrival." The publicity grew in such a way that every man in Bhajani could puff up his chest and say, "I am the man of the area who gets dolphins." "But then I realized that creative work also brings name in the magazine," says son Vijayraj.

Bhojraj, the founder of the Dolphin Conservation Center registered in 057, has been helped by his son and new generations.

That place has become famous as a tourist destination. So far they have collected more than 8 thousand shells. "Collecting 8,000 shells means that 80,000 birds will be saved from dying every year," says Vijayraj's son.

Now the number of birds has increased in Kailali. Dolphins are also growing . "It is very happy to see the change in the appearance of the village that is about to be displaced along with environmental protection," Bhojraj says happily.
