In 2016, there were preparations for the construction of an international airport in Pokhara. Investing in hotels in neighboring districts was started on the belief that when international flights come to Pokhara, tourists will gradually reach the surrounding districts.

At the same time, the tallest and longest suspension bridge in Nepal was built in Baglung Municipality-14 Balewa. When the then local development minister Prakashman Singh came to inaugurate the 'Kaiya Bridge' connecting Kusma in Parbat to Balewa in Baglung, he asked the locals to make good use of the bridge for bungees. He also announced that the government will give permission.

Local businessmen were making plans to link the Khoch of Kaligandaki to tourism promotion. Minister Singh's words cheered them up. Through an organization called 'Into the Well', a proposal was prepared for a government-private sector partnership program on Jholunge Bridge. But the then Mountain District Development Committee did not give permission.

When a group of businessmen were looking for an expert, they found a young man riding a bicycle on a rope in Nepane, Balewa. Sindhupalchok Bhotekoshi resident Raju Karki was here looking for a bungee. At that time, he used to surprise the locals by riding a bicycle on a rope. "The Cliff" was born when Karki, who was practicing adventure sports, and a local businessman met. At Balewa, Nepaneko Dil has now become one of the best tourist destinations in Nepal through 'The Cliff'. The hillock, i.e. 'The Cliff', has attracted the attention of teenagers and young adults all over the world.

Karki says that this bungee is possible with the experience of 8 years working in Bhotekoshi, the money he earned for 3 years living in France and the help of local businessmen. He said that he understood the idea of bringing in tourists through adventure sports in Nepal after reaching France. "After seeing millions of tourists visiting the Eiffel Tower, they saw the mountain mound as an alternative," said Karki, "Kaligandaki river bank is a paradise for adventure tourism." He said that dozens of other sports can be conducted here.

Karki's first thought has become the first choice of adventure game. After starting work from 2073, bungee testing was done here in 2076. It was built in pursuit of the government's announced goal of operating in Tourism Year 2020. But it was closed for a long time due to corona infection.

It took a professional form only from the winter of 2078. At 228 meters above the surface of the Kaligandaki river, Bunji is the second tallest in the world. Visitors can enjoy more than a dozen adventure games along with bungees. From children to adults can play this game.  According to

Karki, last fiscal year, 40,000 people played various games by buying tickets here. Now more than 600 million has been invested here. Many people did not believe the idea of making infrastructure such as Bunji with such a large investment. Karki led this work.

He not only built Nepal's tallest bungee and the world's second tallest bungee by buying a mountain mound, he also made Baglung municipality-14 Narayansthan and the Kusma market of the mountain buzz. Bhir, which no one dares to go for fear of wild animals, has now become a place where ghee is sold at a high price. Not only that, attractive houses, hotels and restaurants have also been carved out of Bhiramai.

Like Pokhara's lakeside, the night time here also shimmers. Dozens of hotels and restaurants have opened. Hundreds of people visit daily. Karki and his French wife, Florence, initially invested in 'The Cliff', which is now run as a partnership.

President is Raju Karki and the directors are local Yuvraj Joshi, Netra Parajuli, Navraj Sharma, Rajan Joshi and Prakash Pradhan. 50 people have added small investments here. 111 people are employed. "Nowadays, the interest of tourists who do adventure travel and adventure is increasing around the world," said Karki, "We have connected that interest to bungee." Their dream of making the only bungee jump connecting Baglung's Balewa to Kusma mountain has now turned into a dozen adventure games. A bungee bridge 228 meters high and 520 meters long is hanging from the sticks. In the middle is a small house.

bungees and swings from the said house. This bridge is also opened for the locals to come and go in case of trouble. Last monsoon, when the Kaligandaki Corridor was blocked, the residents of South Baglung were allowed free travel on this bridge for three months. After crossing this bridge from Kusma, Balewa is reached. A 1,200 meter long 'Mega Trail' is being constructed from Balewa to Kusma. "It's like a zipline but with a different flavor of adventure," said Ishwardhwaj Karki, chief executive officer of The Cliff. Other adventure sports are operating towards Balewa to get used to bungee. Netra Parajuli, another operator, says that this bungee would not have been possible without excellent thinking despite the investment. "This business was born out of Karki's eight years of Bhotekoshi experience," said Parajuli.

The local government has also supported here. Baglung municipality is connected by road network. After CTEVT's Agricultural Technical School came into operation in Balewa, other infrastructures have also been connected by bungees, while Kusma Municipality has paved the road towards the bridge. Dozens of businesses have increased economic activity here since the

bungee was built. More than 1,000 people have been employed in that business. In the last financial year, "The Cliff" has been awarded as the best taxpayer in Gandaki Province, and the local government has also increased tax collection under various headings.

Apart from this bungee bridge that connects two districts, "The Cliff" has built a resort on 70 ropani land towards Balewa. Where one hundred people can stay overnight and one and a half hundred people are served daily lunch, a hotel and restaurant and an attractive garden have also been built.

Kharbari and millet planting land in Nepane has now become a destination for tourists to come by helicopter. Every day between 100 and 150 people bungee here. Since two people are stuck in the swing at the same time, double the number of people is afraid to play. Up to 100 people can be entertained in cycling, up to 150 people in Sky Cafe. Up to 500 people can play

ping daily. Family Ping, Pray Hand, Sky Cycle, Sky Cafe, Sky Cheer have become the attraction of family visit here.

is also a special feature of this game. After bungeeing, you can return from the machine. There are two types of swing. There are 'free fall' and 'rebound' types of swing. Youngsters are more attracted to swings performed by singles and couples. Even the elderly can experience adventure at Guleli Ping.

600 meters long sky cycling is also running here. Sky Cheer, Sky Restaurant, Ping and Rock Climbing have caught everyone's attention. There is an increase in the number of people who buy tickets to visit here, and high-ranking sportsmen and political leaders have also come here. Singer Prakash Saput has also prepared his performance here.

The then Finance Minister Janardhan Sharma attended Sky Restaurant. Congress General Minister Gagan Kumar Thapa, United Samajwadi leader Ram Kumari Jhankri and other leaders have arrived here. Ex-Secretary Dinesh Thapalia and special employees keep coming to celebrate holidays.

Baglung-14 Chairman Chakra Bahadur Khatri said that since it is located at the end of the corridor at Balewa and Kaligand, it has become easier to come to Bunji. A tourist spends at least 10,000 to 15,000 rupees when he arrives at The Cliff. Many economic activities have also increased in Balewa and Parbat Kusma by staying in hotels, eating and visiting other places.

The vegetables planted by the farmers of Balewa have started to find market locally. Kedar Sharma, president of Mountain Industries and Commerce Association, says that this structure being built on the Kaligandaki river will add at least 30,000 more adventure sports tourists and 100,000 more sightseeing tourists.

'This place has become important for tourism,' Sharma said, 'We create an environment for those who want to bring in more investment in the area.' Local businessmen have previously built Nepal's model mechanical bridge and are operating it over the Kaligandaki river. Nepal's highest suspension bridge has also been built here to connect two districts.

Tourists who have reached Muktinath have come back to stay or visit Banji. Manager Parajuli says that foreign tourists who come to Pokhara and Annapurna conservation areas are also targeted for one or two days here.

'If adventure sports and other structures can be brought here for at least one day and at most 3 days, the economy will also improve,' said Parajuli, 'the benefit will be from farmers to local businessmen.' He claims that The Cliff has changed that belief.

Apart from adventure games, accommodation arrangements have been started here in deluxe and standard rooms as per the wishes of the guests. Yuvraj Joshi, another owner, says that many youngsters these days are ready to invest in adventure sports like mountain climbing, bungee swings and hill cycling. Akash is also building a plant for water collection, processing and re-use of once-used water with the investment of The Cliff at Baglung Municipality 14 Narayansthan.

They also plan to conduct biogas, soil conservation and environment friendly projects. Vegetables, milk and other items from local farmers have been purchased in restaurants and hotels. "Now, even if the farmers of Narayansthan, Payyunpata and others grow plenty of vegetables, produce milk and produce khasibo, consumption will be easily managed," said Parajuli, "this is also the way of economic development."

Lately Bunji's promotion seems to be more from Tiktok. Singer Shantarani Pariyar's bungee on Tik Tok has gone viral. Karki says that singers to bankers regularly come here. The hotels here were full of people coming to celebrate the Dasaintihar holiday. Even with the lights on at night, the players would fall asleep. Visitors here spend an extra day visiting Baglung Kalika and Panchkot. Online ticketing has increased the importance of Bungee.

Pokhara, Lumbini, Jomsom, Sauraha are the only ones who have added bungee to the list of leisure travel. Even those who go directly from Pokhara to Jomsom have started making plans to visit Baglung and the mountain on their way back. Tourists come here even staying in Pokhara because the hotel is full in winter. This business has increased the value of land in Balewa.

"First we should have chased away the monkeys, after coming to Bunji, even the youth who went abroad are thinking of doing the same thing," said Madhudevi Basnet of Baglung Municipality-14, "The price of land that was not sold before is being sold at four lakh rupees per acre."
