'Hat' to forget the name of wisdom!

If any artist has been in the limelight for a decade, it is Buddhi Tamang. Especially 'Hat' has become his introduction. It is from this character that the word has become so closely associated with Buddhi, known in the film industry, that his real identity has been overshadowed.

Artist Buddhi Tamang has been in the limelight for a decade now because of a Thego. That is, "Hat"! In particular, it has become synonymous with him. It is from this character that the film industry recognized Buddhi and saw his acting on the screen. This word is associated with intelligence, the ups and downs of his film career are connected with this same theme.

For his fans, this is not just a word, it has become a feeling. So, if Buddhi doesn't say this thego in a film, the fans will send a message saying, "Dai's film was decided, but you didn't say it was a hit." As soon as they see him, the word 'hat' comes out of the fans' mouths.

He himself admits that 75 percent of those who know him know him as Hat rather than Buddhi Tamang. When the photo is taken, the same word appears in the caption of the photo. This word known to himself is also dear to the intellect. It makes me happy when I get to know you in terms of familiarity. But, from the point of view of the character, I am worried that I am stuck in one character," he says with a smile, "Have you spent your life in one character or what? It hurts to say. Finally happy, because the artist is recognized in one way or another. How many works, how many names are known, I am known by the name of the character.'  To break the story, 'hat' is a word used in everyday life. But, when this word was raised by Buddhi as a character, the red stamp of Buddhi appeared on the 'hat'. The word 'hat' has gained meaning. And, as a character, the brand itself became. Buddhi used to use this word unintentionally to energize himself while working on the play. When the body became relaxed, Jurukk would get up saying "Hat is not like this". When the tiger is chased towards the village or the buffalo does not eat, the Tamang speakers say 'hott'. When Rambabu Gurung wrote the same word that the intellect was speaking unconsciously for the dialogue spoken by the character, the word 'hat' became a feeling.

From which date Hat and Buddhi met, he cannot say for sure. But, he knows, hat character took 4/5 years to run. The great writer BP Koirala had only three ghumtis. However, after the hat had completed 17 laps, it occurred to me that it had been registered. It is said that it started to be preferred from this tour. Gradually it gained popularity,” says Buddhi in a humorous manner, “like the journey of my life, the hat gradually picked up. I didn't know how many times I was hit as I progressed slowly. It was only later that I realized that everyone would know me too. Therefore, there is no date of birth of the hit and no permanent time of the hit.'

Chhatyal character of 'Kabaddi' brought the talking 'Hat' to 'Meri Bassai' with wisdom. After that, it became popular among the small screen audience through the film 'Hate' teleserial. With the troupe, which had been consolidating on television, moved into filmmaking, Hit traveled to the series of 'Kabaddi' and 'Chakka Panja', after which Hit became a huge hit. And then the demand for wisdom suddenly started, with him the discussion of this Thego started to reach higher heights. After doing 'Kabaddi', 'Talakjung vs. Tulke', 'Tandro', Buddhi lived the said character in 'Meri Bassai'. The word hat was spoken based on character. Be it when the character is happy or sad, the action before uttering that word, it seems that the word is preferred more by the sequence in which the character speaks,' Buddhi explores the reasons for liking Hat.

To give birth to a character who sits stiffly, with his mouth wide open, to meet that character, the intellect not only had to use intelligence for a long time, but had to experience that character within itself. During the creation of the character, Buddhi created this character by tapping into the nature of the director Rambabu Gurung. While writing the script of 'Kabaddi', Mandala Theater's office was in Anamgarh. The land where the hall is to be built is vacant. At that time, Rambabu Gurung, Nischal Basnet, Dayahang Rai used to write scripts in that office. He used to walk out when the script work did not progress.

'Hat' to forget the name of wisdom! Along with Buddhi, Nazir Hussain, Vijay Baral, Umesh Tamang and Pradeep Choudhary had plans to build the same hall of Mandala outside. Director Ram Babu used to say, 'We have written characters for you too.' After getting the 'script' with the greed of appearing on the big screen, the hard work done in character building is still remembered by Buddhi. "I want the character to be important to the story, I want to be able to identify myself by helping the story with my role." So take time to find the character," said Buddhi.

While searching for the Chantyal character, one day Buddhi asked himself, 'Did I meet this character called Buddhilal Chantyal or not?' Then he started to feel that character within himself. While searching, he felt that I was part of this character. "He doesn't talk much, as if he is angry even when he is sitting quietly," he remembered the days of character creation. What is the special habit of Chantyal character? While thinking, the director Rambabu Gurung was right in front of his eyes. At that time Ram Babu used to pucker his mouth while thinking. And immediately Buddhi told the director Gurung, 'When your part comes in the film, act without opening your mouth. "Leave it to me to peck my mouth," says Buddhi, "thinking too much but not thinking about anything." A character who does not say anything, but speaks his thoughts and experiences. It was as if he was sitting still, but as he developed, a character was created.'

After getting a positive response from Chantyal's character after 'Kabaddi', Buddhi thought, 'The audience fell in love with it.' At that time, Chantyal's character was new, it was a character with a different taste, it is natural to like it. But even after 10 years of 'Kabaddi', still liking 'Hat' is a matter of wonder. Once the audience/market liked this character, there was a queue of those who made Buddhi speak 'Hat'. While doing 9 films in a year, Buddhi could not help but say 'hat'. In films like 'Kohalpur Express', 'Damruko Dandibio', 'Hairaan', 'Changa', 'Mattimala', 'Bhaire', 'Jai Bhole', 'Chakkapanja 3', 'Captain',  'Nai Nabhannu Lo 5'. While constantly watching, the filmmakers would demand, 'Even if it's not a hat, the flavor is the same.' Even though he advised not to use that word in every film without understanding the depth of the character who speaks hat. But without being able to give advice, filmmakers used to say, 'We need a character like Hat.' That makes a difference. What is the nature and behavior of the character in the story. When creating a character based on that, a hat does not fit every character. When it doesn't fit with the story, the environment, the character becomes weak. He used to 'demand' saying hat signature must go.

'After being asked to speak even for the trailer, I felt that I was typecast when I had to do the role forcefully.' He knew that this kind of theo would shorten the actor's screen life. So he tried not to repeat hits in many films, because he wanted to stay in this field for a long time. I didn't feel bad when I was typecast. However, at that time I felt that my life in the film was short. Looking at the choice of the audience, many people feel that I have been typecast even when I write such a character," says Buddhi. But, once everyone started saying hat, I thought, now I will continue for one or two years.'  Realizing that

'Hat' to forget the name of wisdom! is fatal for typecast artists, he has reduced his 'hat' speech. Paradoxically, he can't stay away from the hat entirely. Even the filmmakers do not believe much in the new character. "I'm not running away from it, but I'm doing less. This is how the audience recognized me. Their love should also be appreciated. This is how we got to know you, why don't you enjoy being measured,' says Buddhi, 'I try to get the same love from the audience for a little longer, to prove that I have a different taste in me. Not trying to run away from the hat but trying to protect it. The more you talk about it, the more you taste it. It means that you will get tired of hearing it. But, fortunately, I have been living with the same Thego for 10/11 years.'

Buddhi wants to prove himself in a new character. A different taste wants to penetrate the audience. However, filmmakers in the commercial market do not want to take risks with actors like him. So it seems that artists like Buddhi have to deal with typecasting to survive in this field. “I am not angry with this Thego. Hait introduced himself. I am proud of this Thego," Buddhi said, "It is not that an artist should avoid being typecast. Being typecast is a good thing. I know at least one thing. But, I want to prove myself in other characters as well.' He appeared in a negative role in Milan Chams' Veer Vikram 2. He tries to prove himself in a different character from his side. During the creation of each character, they are working on finding answers to three hundred questions. They build character by looking at the psychology, behavior, temperament and social, cultural, economic aspects of the character.

However, there is not much character to forget the hat. Just some time ago, when 'Degree Maila' was on, everyone called Buddhi as 'u' dai, when 'Gharzwai' was on, they also called 'Meow'. However, while standing in these different characters, the thirst for a new, risk-taking character has not extinguished the intellect. And the question arises, 'Have you found a filmmaker who would take the risk of letting an actor like Buddhi live in a different character?'
