Kaylee Hottle, the 18-year-old actress from the film ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’, has died in a traffic accident. She died in a car accident in Maryland, USA, on Tuesday.
According to the Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, it has been confirmed that Hottle died in the accident due to “multiple injuries.”
According to local time, the accident occurred around 3 a.m. on Tuesday in Ijamsville, Maryland. A 19-year-old man was driving a 1995 model Honda Accord, which veered to the right side of the road and crashed into a nearby culvert. Preliminary investigations indicate that excessive speed was the main cause of the accident.
There were three people in the car, including the driver. The driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment, but his injuries are not serious. Another passenger refused treatment at the scene.
Hottle was rescued from the scene and taken to a nearby trauma center, but doctors declared her dead. Police have stated that further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Kaylee’s entire family, who use sign language, are part of the Deaf community. Her parents, Joshua and Ketsi Hottle, expressed deep sorrow over their daughter’s death by posting a video in sign language on social media.
After the accident, Kaylee’s father Joshua released an emotional video message in sign language on social media, saying, “I am very grateful for the 18 years we spent together, but I wish I could have spent more time with her. I am going to Maryland to bring Kaylee’s body home.”
Her father also said that Kaylee’s heartbeat had already stopped before she was taken to the hospital by air ambulance from the accident site. In addition, Joshua mentioned that he has forgiven the 19-year-old driver, saying, “I have forgiven you. Don’t let this incident ruin the rest of your life.”

In the film, she portrayed an orphaned girl who communicates with Kong using sign language.
Kaylee also acted in an episode of the television series ‘Magnum P.I.’ and was set to appear in the upcoming thriller film ‘What Doesn’t Kill Us’.
In a 2024 interview with The Associated Press, Kaylee said that before working in films, she had not watched “monster” movies and that her father helped her understand the field. She said, “I am considered a source of inspiration by many people, but for me, my greatest sources of inspiration are my parents and my sisters.”
