The award for Best Modern Female Singer at the 8th Xtreme Energy Radio Kantipur National Music Awards 2082 has been given to Reshma Pun.

Pun received the award for the song ‘Mayaka Geet’ during Radio Kantipur’s 28th anniversary celebration held at Plaza in Pulchowk on Friday.

In the modern music category for best female singer, she competed with Sanja Chaulagain for ‘Kasto Nasha’, Rachana Rimal for ‘Aama’, Banika Pradhan for ‘Juni Pani’, and Smita Pradhan for ‘Halka Halka’.

Her singing career began with cover songs. Songs such as ‘Chandrama’ by Artmandu, ‘Badalupariko Deshaima’, ‘Behuli Sang’ (Baru), ‘Shirko Phool’, and ‘Jyanai Silim Bho’ in collaboration with Shri Chamling Rai have become popular. Similarly, her song ‘Kesari’ featured in the film ‘Kabaddi 4’ was also very popular. Pun has now established herself as a prominent name in modern and playback singing.
