President Donald Trump has been angered after most artists withdrew from the Great American State Fair, which is being held to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States. He has expressed his anger by calling the artists who withdrew their names as “cowards” and “third-rate.”
“I know they are scared to perform,” Trump wrote on his social media account “Truth Social” on Saturday, mocking the artists. “Instead of these overpaid two-dollar artists, I am thinking of bringing in the greatest ‘The Goat’ of all time, President Donald Trump.”
The group that is managing the fair, which is being held on the National Mall in Washington from June 25 to July 10, is facing controversy. Most of the artists have decided not to participate in the program, saying that “Freedom 250” is not an impartial and neutral organization dedicated to the nation. They have claimed that Trump's rhetoric will be used in 'Freedom 250' and that the program it will organize will not be politically neutral and impartial. Young MC, Morris Day, The Commodores, Martina McBride, Bret Michaels, and others have withdrawn from the program, saying that the group's CEO, Keith Krauch, is a former high-ranking official in the Trump administration, which shows political favoritism. However, artists such as Vanilla Ice and Flo Ryder have said that they will perform.
But now Trump's anger towards the artists has become so intense that he is probably trying to change the style of the program. Rather than taking the hassle of a musical program, Trump is also said to be planning to hold a huge rally under the banner of 'Make America Great Again' (MAGA) and lead it himself. The organizer 'Freedom 250' also issued a statement, stating that 'President Trump will kick off this historic celebration on Wednesday (June 24)'.
Trump also addressed the artists who dropped out of the event in another post, saying, "The proper solution now is to cancel the concert itself. There should be a huge 'Make America Great Again' rally for the 250th anniversary. There is no point in having boring music and overpriced singers that no one wants to hear."
