Kannada actress Rukmini Vasantha has filed a complaint with Cybercrime, alleging that she was defamed through an AI-generated video. The video, which has been going viral on social media since last Friday, features the face of 'Kantara: Chapter 1' actress Rukmini through a deep fake. The actress, who is seen in a swimming pool in a green bikini, has defamed her and has misled her fans, and has approached Cybercrime for legal redress.

'I have just filed a complaint with the police against the video maker, I am fully confident that our Cybercrime Department will take this seriously' Rukmini, who is set to make a comeback with the film 'Toxic', said, 'This is not just a problem for actresses, most young women are also facing it. I don't think it is necessary to do this.' If this trend of victimizing heroines continues, the young women of the country will also have to face a lot of problems. The heroine has advised the youth to think about using AI technology in a positive way rather than a negative way.

Even before filing a complaint in cybercrime, Rukmini had written a status on social media, trying to clarify that the video was not hers. 'My team and I have been drawn to the attention of the so-called AI generated video/photo being circulated online, which is completely misleading and AI-generated,' she wrote. 'The act of making and spreading such videos is seriously objectionable. It greatly affects the privacy of a person.' She has requested social media users not to share the video and has also urged the authorities to take strict legal action against those who make such false videos.
