Actor Sagar Lamsal has been removed from the film 'Panch Pandav' after a young woman accused him of rape on social media. Production company Kalirani Films issued a statement on Friday, informing that Lamsal has been removed from the film on moral grounds. The statement also states that another actor will be replaced by Bale. The film's shooting has been going on in various locations in Jhapa since Chaitra 2. The production team took this decision after the accusations were made when 90 percent of the actor's attention was drawn to the film. 'Anyone who has been accused of a heinous crime cannot be a member of the film. Considering the danger that patronizing the accused in a film that is being made with the aim of contributing to the development of society based on a sacred name and subject like Pandav, the agreement with Sagar Lamsal has been canceled from today,' the statement said.

'Panch Pandav' is directed by Basanta Niraula. Written and cinematographed by Sushil Poudel, the film stars Haribansha Acharya, Jitu Nepal, Aryan Sigdel, Deepashree Niraula, Mahesh Tripathi, among others.
