The artists say that the initial results of the House of Representatives elections have shown the disillusionment among the people. They believe that the new party has given its mandate with the hope of change in the country and that the leadership has been elected now.
Actress Priyanka Karki also said that she voted for the National Independent Party with the hope of change and has been supporting the Balen group since the beginning. 'I voted this time thinking that it is necessary to get rid of all the old faces and false promises. I had been saying that in order to see that the country is on the right path, such a person should win the election, whose thinking is different from the previous one,' Priyanka said, 'and now it seems that this kind of result is coming. The votes seem to be saying that the people also need this change.'
Priyanka feels that the current results have changed the political landscape of the country. That is why Priyanka says that she voted for a leadership with the ability to run the country and the potential to bring about new changes. She says, 'We are confident that when a leadership with the ability to run the country, it will bring about change. Let's see what happens!'
Priyanka was already impressed by Balen's leadership and his style of working more than the party. 'I think that most Nepalis believe that his leadership and vision will definitely bring about change in the country, that the country will move in a positive direction. That change should be brought about by any means. For that, I was saying that we should bring about change by voting rather than through social media. That was seen,' Priyanka said. Even though the country has reached a state of 'enough is enough,' this election seems to have given Priyanka confidence. Priyanka also felt that the government had become unstable because the same face had played 'musical cheer' for many years. Which government led the country for five years, which was the stable government? Priyanka does not remember. Priyanka says that the Nepali people have become frustrated with the false dreams given by the old faces for years. She believes that this frustration has brought about this result now.
'As far as I am concerned, Nepalis are tolerant. We waited for the dreams that were shown to us to be fulfilled, but they never were. And now there is a wave of people saying, 'We will not tolerate it,' Priyanka says, 'The new party that seems to be winning has a new face. There must be less political practice. But, because they believe that they will do it, after doing nothing, they have voted to give the new one a chance.' I hope that those who have proven themselves in their respective fields will take the country forward.''
Actor and director Nischal Basnet also felt that the initial results of the vote count showed that Nepali citizens were looking for change. He says that the people have completed their work by voting for that change. He said that the responsibility of those who win is to deliver services. He said that the people now see the need to play the role of the opposition. 'I am happy, because I can experience the work of a stable government,' said Nischal.
While supporting Balen in this election, some criticized Nischal for being selfish. However, he says that he supported Balen so that the country, which is stuck in basic needs, could find a way out. Nischal personally neither wanted to take anything from Balen nor give anything. He argues that he supported Balen, expecting a service-oriented government that would serve all citizens.
'Perhaps we have not experienced how a stable government works. We have been enduring many problems in every field. That should be the solution. No government has been able to show how a service-oriented government can be formed that serves the people,' said Nischal. 'If this government did that, I would have been the happiest.'
It is true that being a familiar face has made it easier for Nischal to get many services. However, he expresses his desire for the new government to provide equal services to all citizens. He says, 'I have supported the government because I hope that the government will provide the same kind of service to every citizen. Personally, I do not want to take anything, nor give anything. I want what all citizens get. I did not support it because I would get something.' He confidently says that he supported Balen in the hope of a government that would solve the problems of the people. 'I will support him for the next 5 years. However, if the work starts to go wrong, I will also warn you,' said Nischal, 'My job is to make films. I will continue to work in the policy area of my area,' he said.
Nischal had already been connected to Balen through music. Whether Balen rose to become the mayor of Kathmandu or ran in the parliamentary elections, he has been supporting him. Nischal says that he supported Balen because he wanted to see the same style and leadership that Balen worked in the Kathmandu Metropolitan City in the entire country.
Actor and producer Rabindra Singh Baniya is also hopeful of forming a permanent government. Rabindra hopes that the new government will also pass the Film Bill. Rabindra says that the challenge of how to fulfill the expectations and aspirations of the people with limited resources has been added to the new government. 'Earlier, it was said that there would be no permanent government. But now, with the formation of a permanent government, the film bill will also be passed. The rest of their work remains to be seen. The film has been made, it remains to be screened,' said Ravindra, 'the people have approved it, they have to create a good environment for all professions.'
Former Miss Nepal and businesswoman Anushka Shrestha, who was in the proportional list of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) party, sees the results of the vote across the country as full of hope. She also believes that they should be prepared to work according to that hope. 'This vote result is also a reflection of how much frustration and hope the people have. And it also means that we should work with preparation accordingly,' she said.
Anushka also attended Ranju Darshana's victory celebration. She says that Ranju's victory has revealed the strength and leadership potential of women. 'Perhaps even men are surprised today by how much women can do. This is an example that we can also handle leadership with a child,' said Anushka, 'The way she entered the election while carrying a 9-month-old pregnancy was very powerful. This victory also shows that our community is ready to support strong women who do good work in terms of society.' Anushka has already started preparing for her new role. She says, 'We are preparing to work on the challenges of trying to produce Made in Nepal products in Nepal, and the confidence that needs to be instilled in the youth when they are being told to work in the country.' She believes in a government with good governance. The current atmosphere has added new energy to Prakash Saput, the proportional candidate and singer of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He is happy to be a part of the new movement and the needs of the new times. 'This atmosphere is good. It seems that the majority will come. This time, the people are the ones to thank. They have recognized the new need and approved it,' Prakash said. 'This is the beautiful side of democracy.' Prakash has also experienced a sense of responsibility with the victory of the party he is affiliated to. Prakash has to become the voice and face of oppression.
'The manifesto of the RSVP also mentions bringing the voice of the oppressed to the reach of various sectors,' he said. 'With the arrival of Balen and Ravi, not only will there be a change in the working style, but I have experienced that there will be a planned work on how to bring the oppressed community to the reach of every body of the state.' Prakash also claims that he will stand up to warn the party he is affiliated to tomorrow if it forgets the voice of the oppressed community. 'If the national party forgets the voices of those who have been oppressed for years, it will be a task to remind them,' said Prakash.
The situation created by the Gen-G movement forced actress Nisha Adhikari to not only become a homemaker in politics but also to contest the election for the House of Representatives. Nisha became the candidate of Kathmandu Constituency No. 5 from the Dynamic Democratic Party with the urge to do something for the new generation. After voting, Nisha took a deep breath. 'The responsibility I felt after the Gen-G movement, I felt the joy of doing my best,' said Nisha. 'The urge to do something for the country in the Gen-G movement was a lost urge that was looking for a way out. I have received a direction from this election campaign. I am very happy to have fought in the election field like this.'
Since this is the first time that Nisha is contesting the election, she is not able to assess the vote count. She is confident that the votes she will get will help her party and her own election campaign in the future. 'Since it is the first time, where are my pocket votes? I am not sure where they will come from. It will help me analyze my own election campaign and the public opinion I will get for the next election,' said Nisha.
Nisha has learned a lot while being a candidate this time. She has also experienced fulfilling her responsibilities while following the code of conduct and engaging in the election campaign. 'We come into the role of leadership only after filing candidacy. The election campaign was conducted by following the code of conduct every day. In this way, it has become a benchmark for herself that she should be a loyal campaigner,' said Nisha. 'Our party is a new party.' It has become a benchmark that this is how a party-based campaign can be conducted.'
Nisha has gained a lot of courage from this election. She has closely observed the urgent issues that need to be addressed for the country. However, she has also felt that this society has found it difficult to digest women's leadership. 'Thankfully, the Prime Minister has now held the election. He held the election after facing a lot of criticism. Finally, it seems that the spirit of women's leadership has been accepted,' Nisha said. 'Otherwise, women's leadership and women candidates are taken very lightly. I also wondered where to start this process.'
