This election to the House of Representatives was a new experience for singer Prakash Saput. The election ballot was difficult for him. At other times, election time was fun for him, and voting played a big role. However, this time he felt a little more responsible. The reason is that this election was not just an ordinary vote for him. Prakash, who is the proportional representation candidate of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), has thought about his journey to the House with music from this election.
'I used to think that I would vote first. However, this time I felt a little more responsible. Since the bell symbol was included in the ballot for the first time, it seemed like the voters in our village were a little more excited,' said Prakash. 'As a candidate from the village, there was a kind of expectation and welcome from the people, and I felt a little more responsibility.'
Prakash said this morning He also voted from Baglung constituency number 1 at around 9 o'clock. While reaching various areas affiliated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) this time, Prakash has experienced a distinct increase in people's trust for a new face. When he reached the constituencies of Koshi, Banke, Baglung and Syangja, seeking votes for candidates, he closely observed the people there. 'There are talks of ideas and agendas. But now, I came across a commentary that says, "We should look for new people," says Prakash.
As a singer, Prakash has not previously visited various districts of Nepal for musical performances. However, he says that the experience has become very different when he has reached those districts as a leader. 'I did not feel comfortable presenting myself as a leader. When I reached the place where I had reached as an artist, I felt that I was not mentally prepared when I reached the place where I had reached as a candidate of a certain party,' Prakash shared his experience,'But, I had to establish a new responsibility, a new time, a new truth, so I delivered it in my own way through music.'
Prakash, who is ranked second in the Dalit male cluster of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, entered the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh to support the honest efforts of the Balendra group to move forward, question, and lead in parallel with the old power. 'At least, the new movement and the new party established in the new time had to come into existence in parallel with the old party. Otherwise, politics will be repeated on the credit of changing the system. Therefore, for that, another parallel politics is needed that will bring new issues of the new time,' Prakash said, 'Since Balen ji's honest efforts have been seen, my aim is to establish it.' While this is being established, the face and voice of an oppressed community should go hand in hand.'
Prakash also felt that politics done at the 'ground level' was new for him and his party. 'It is difficult to do politics at the ground level.' But, if you can work on some policies once you become an executive and practice politics differently, it will be a good experience,' Prakash added.
Prakash, who is active in singing as well as acting, has also gained experience in this election, as he has come across different views of old and new voters. 'It remains to be seen whether the majority will come to this day,' Prakash said.
