When Lilia (Iya Butera) returns to her home in Tunisia from Paris, her childhood memories come flooding back. As she tries to get out of the car, the camera shows the same Lilia from her childhood in the back seat.

At first glance, we think that someone is sitting in the back seat. But, it is all three little Lilia. When the camera moves into Lilia's real world, little Lilia disappears. The strength of the film "In a Whisper" directed by Leila Bouzid, selected for the main competition at the Berlin International Film Festival, is that whenever Lilia remembers her childhood in the film, little Lilia appears in the frame.

For example, Lilia's childhood continues to haunt her until she reaches the place where she spent her childhood. In the first scene of the film, she climbs the stairs of the house and reaches the upper floor. Little Lilia is shown climbing the stairs before her. And only then does she climb the stairs and climb over Lilia.

In this film, which had its world premiere at the Berlinale, Lilia arrives in Tunisia for her uncle's funeral. Sometimes prayers are heard in the house, and sometimes she is seen comforting her old grandmother Nefisa. Amidst this noise, a silence is felt there, which does not make a loud sound. However, this has become a ground through one ear, two ears. In 'Communication', we say 'Spiral of Silence'! As in the title of the film, the truth that spreads silently there gradually unfolds with that last rites. And, this aspect is the strong point of the film that remains in the film.

In particular, Lilia's uncle Dali (Karim) is a homosexual. This is a known fact. From his wife to his sister and Lilia, everyone knows about it. However, in the narrow society in which they live, this issue is not looked at with a positive eye, this identity is not accepted. That is why neither Lilia's uncle has revealed his sexual identity nor have other family members shown any signs of knowing about it. That is why they prefer to remain silent about Dalia's sexual identity even after her death. However, Dalia's death happened in such a mysterious way, in which her identity is somehow connected to her.

What is interesting is that Lilia reveals her sexual identity to her family during this journey to understand her uncle's death. In fact, this film revolves around Dalia's sexual identity rather than Dalia's death.

Through her journey, how difficult is Tunisian society for gender and minority communities? How does that society view this community? It is shown. How much courage does it take for the characters of this community to open up in their own family? What kind of struggle and contempt do they have to face? These issues are shown through Lilia's relationship with her mother and girlfriend.

Lilia's mother, Wahida (Hiam Abbas), who supports her brother (Daly) to come out in the family, does not believe in her daughter's sexual identity. What ups and downs do Lilia, her mother, and her girlfriend Alice go through to fight this issue that the law considers a crime?

This film is a satirical film that not only satirizes the society that has not become open for gender and minority families, but also the narrow-mindedness that holds onto patriarchy. Even in places where the law has made it forbidden, people from this community are struggling to live openly with their identity. This beautiful way of life has been presented in a sweet rhythm in this film.

In the documentary 'The Ballad of Judas Priest', which Berlina watched, how did legendary singer vocalist Rob Halford's life pass amidst the turmoil of his sexual identity within the beautiful rhythm of music? When he could not live with his sexual identity, what did the world of rock and roll sound like to him? The documentary made on him has narrated that pain, turmoil to the audience through the documentary.

'The Ballad of Judas Priest' begins exactly with the melody of rock metal. In the rhythm of metal music, artist Jack Black initially draws the audience's attention to the documentary in such a way that the audience bows down to the songs of Judas Priest that are played later.

While welcoming the new wave of music, why couldn't the audience see the metal singer as a gay man at that time? Why did the band members want to see Rob hiding his sexual identity from him? The documentary satirizes the society of the time, the metal audience, and their thinking. How could Rob, the fierce voice of the metal world, live by hiding a truth amidst the loud melodies of metal? What impact did it have on his life and the band members? How did it affect metal music? Rob's life, told using archive footage and interviews, is inspiring for those characters who are still living a life of suffocation.

This documentary, which covers the biography of the legendary metal band Rob, is presented in the tunes of the ups and downs of rock and roll. That is why this documentary has been made musical. In fact, this documentary is a 'tribute' to this band. Because it covers its struggles and achievements since its inception. After the documentary is over, you will feel like you have listened to a long metal concert.
