Four Nepali plays will be shown at the 4th Kolkata International Children's Drama Festival, which begins on Wednesday.

The plays titled 'Parvati' written and directed by Pushparaj Awasthi, 'Jeevan Maran' written and directed by Rambabu Regmi, 'Jutho' written and directed by Rajan Bhujel, and 'Ghasi Ko?' written and directed by Prabhakar Neupane are being staged from Nepal at the festival.

The play 'Parvati' written and directed by theatre artist Pushparaj Awasthi will feature students from Marigold English Boarding School in Balakot, Bhaktapur. The play is based on the Deuki custom that was once prevalent in the Far West.

The director of the play, Awasthi, said that he was happy to take the country's art and culture to the international stage through his work. He said that he presents Nepali theatrical art on the international stage and also represents Nepal in participating in drama festivals organized in various places in India every year with plays and artists.

The Kolkata Eso Natak Sikhi drama festival will begin from Poush 30 and conclude on Magh 2. This year, 8 countries including Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Mexico, Japan, Russia and the Czech Republic are participating in the festival.
