A sequel to Vipul Amrutlal Shah's film 'The Kerala Story', considered one of the films made on controversial themes in Bollywood, is coming.

The film, which was released in 2023, was in a lot of controversy after being linked to the topic of 'Love Jihad'.

Now its sequel 'The Kerala Story 2' is set to be released in 2026. According to news published in Bollywood media, the shooting of the film has been completed in Kerala.

According to the report, the story of the second part is said to be even darker. The director and cast of the film have not been officially revealed yet.

Tight security arrangements were made on the set and a 'no-phone policy' was implemented to prevent material leaks.

It is said that the cast and technical team members were not allowed to use mobile phones during the shooting.

The film is set to be released on February 27, 2026. 'The Kerala Story' was made on a budget of around Rs 20 crore.

The film did a business of Rs 242.20 crore in India alone and a business of Rs 303.97 crore worldwide.
