Nani Sara Walker's film 'Shakti' has received a Jury Mention at the 13th Nepal Human Rights Film Festival. The film, which covers sexual abuse, the pain and struggle of the Dalit community, was premiered among Nepali audiences for the first time.
Lamina won the award for ‘Best Documentary Short’ at the festival. Similarly, ‘Don’t Be Late Myra’ won the ‘Best Fiction Short’. The film ‘Laptin’ received the Best Feature Award.
While ‘Rihanna’ won the Best Feature Film under Nepali Panorama, Ashuka Aryal was declared ‘Best Female Director’ for ‘Kamana’.
The festival began in Kathmandu on Thursday. The festival, which began on 25th of Mangsir and lasted till 29th of Mangsir. 50 films from 26 countries were screened at the festival.
