An 'Artists Spotlight' program is scheduled to be held among Nepali filmmakers based in New York. The program, organized by 'NFNY', a group of Nepali filmmakers active in filmmaking based in the United States, is scheduled to take place on Sunday local time.
Nepali short films will be shown in the program. There is also a program of experimental folk music in a musical setting. The program was started to connect Nepali artists in the United States, to see their work and to encourage each other, said director Ankit Poudel.
'This program is an attempt to connect filmmakers and artists who are living here and making films. We also saw the importance of this program in creating a creative family and foundation for gathering with Nepali artists,' said Ankit.
NFNY is a group started by artists to support artists, which tries to connect Nepalis active in film, music and art in the United States. This group has been supporting film production by organizing film workshops, film screenings and discussions on various topics related to films.
