Directed by John Yonjan, the film 'Aankha' has been declared the best film at the Asia Pacific Film Festival. The Nepali film was declared the best at the 62nd edition of the festival held in Malaysia.

The film's lead actress Smita Lamichhane had reached Malaysia from Nepal to receive the award.

'This is a huge achievement for our group. I would like to thank all the actors, technical team and audience who believed in this story and this journey,' Smita wrote happily on social media Facebook.

This low-budget film was liked by most of the audience in Nepal as well. However, the film did not run in theaters for long. Along with Smita, the film stars actresses Pashupati Rai, Nisha Adhikari, RK Mehta, Vijay Barla, and Buddhi Tamang. The film tells the story of ordinary characters who have settled in a slum.
