Eric Valley, who led a Nepali film to an Oscar nomination for the first time, says there are many stories left to be told in Nepal. Speaking at an event organized at the Central Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Eric said that there are still many stories in Nepal that others have not seen.
'There are so many ethnicities, religions and cultures in Nepal that many stories have not been seen by others,' said Eric. Eric never made a film with the idea of going to the Oscars. Eric shared his experience of never wanting to chase success. 'I never made a film thinking it would be successful or go to the Oscars.' But, I am ready to do anything for the story,' Eric said looking at the audience at the event.
Eric never tried to make a film targeting the audience. 'I never thought that the film should be commercial, that it should be made for the audience. For me, the story has always been the main thing,' he said.
'Himalaya: Caravan' director Eric is currently busy working on a new film. However, he did not want to reveal much about the new film. 'I don't like to discuss the work I am doing,' said Eric jokingly. Eric is also a famous photographer.
