What you should know

Babita's memory is slowly fading. To bring back that memory, her lover Praveen keeps replaying their first meeting over and over again. Praveen keeps knocking on Babita's door, on the pretext of repairing damaged goods! As always, her mother opens the door. Babita, who is writing something with a pen and paper in her hand, is interrupted by Praveen's arrival! She asks Praveen, 'Do you like the Beatles?'

This is a scene from the short film 'Yastai Raichha'. In this Nepali short film directed by Australian filmmaker Kalani Gakkan, singer Sushant KC has acted in the character of Praveen. And, actress Thinley Lhamo has been seen portraying the female character. The short film titled 'Yastai Raichha' has been released on Sushant's YouTube channel. Sushant's group premiered the film at a program in Kathmandu on Friday.

The 12-minute long film released on YouTube shows the tragic love of Babita and Praveen. The production team released the short film before releasing the song. Sushant has made his acting debut through this short story. This song starts from where the story of the film ends. Or rather, Sushant has put the story, environment and emotions of the characters in the film in this song. However, Sushant said that the song will be released only after some time. 'We will release the song in a few days. Right now, you will only be able to watch the film. We have tried to do something new,' Sushant said at the premiere of the film. Director Gakkan, who has previously directed short films such as 'Sapnako Awaaz' and 'Family Man', has collaborated with renowned cinematographer Chintan Rajbhandari on this film. Chintan has previously shot two of his films.

'When a story comes to me, it stays in my mind so much that I have to tell it through a film. It constantly follows me. That is the story of Aika Raichha. I wanted to show remembrance, unforgettable love and devotion through visual language, Aika Raichha is an example of that,' said Gakkan. Actress Thinley, who appeared with Sushant in this film, came to the limelight with 'Shambala'. Before that, she had also acted in films like 'Hari' and 'Naka'.

Although the attempt to tell a story along with songs is not new. However, Sushant, who has sung famous songs like 'Bardali', 'Sarangi', 'Parkh Na', 'Risaune Bhade', has proven himself serious in storytelling through collaboration with filmmakers.
