The second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) is shaping up to be a celebration for sports fans. Many artists are also showing their support for this exciting competition.
Singer Rachana Rimal has been enthusiastic since the start of the NPL. A native of Jhapa, she has openly supported Biratnagar Kings. Sometimes she is supporting Biratnagar Kings by wearing their jersey and sometimes she is showing her interest in the game by waving the flag.
Singer Alina Chauhan also supports Biratnagar Kings. Even though she is from Jhapa, it is not out of the question that Alina will not support her own state's team. On social media, she has openly supported Biratnagar Kings.
Cricket-loving artist Kumar Kattel was also seen wearing a yellow jersey on social media. He asked social media users, 'Which team are you supporting in the NPL this time?'
In the comments, some were writing Sudurpaschim Royals, some Karnali Yaks, and some Biratnagar Kings. Pokhara Avengers, Chitwan Rhinos, Kathmandu Gurkhas and Lumbini Lions are all taking their side. Kumar is also in support of Biratnagar Kings. ‘Although the whole country is in favor of the game. But even within this, Biratnagar Kings have a little more support now,’ he says.
On November 17, actor Haribansha Acharya also posted a photo of himself going to watch the game at Dashrath Stadium.
In the caption, he wrote, ‘An important league for the development of Nepali cricket.’ He did not reveal which side he is in.
The NPL, which will run until the 27th, will have 32 matches, including a league stage, three playoffs and a final.
