Director Rishi Lamichhane has been elected as the president of the International Nepali Artists Society (INAS), Nepal branch.
A new 17-member working committee was elected under the leadership of Lamichhane at the second convention of the branch held in Kathmandu on Tuesday.
Actor Ramesh Upreti, actress Rejina Upreti and singer Yubaraj Chaulagain were elected as vice-chairmen, while film production controller Shankar Pandey was elected as general secretary and Rajin Paneru was elected as secretary. Similarly, film distributor Ratna Shrestha was elected as treasurer. Khuman Adhikari, Alina Chauhan, Purna Bahadur Lama, Dinesh Kafle, Priyanka Prasai, Gautam Manandhar, Sahara Pandey, Deepa Regmi Pant, Ritu Kandel and Shivam Adhikari were elected as members.
Lamichhane, who was elected as president for the 2025-2027 term, has expressed his commitment to work in accordance with the spirit of the statute and decide on the future work plan in a way that respects the feelings of Nepali artists around the world.
ENAS is a social organization established in Poland in 2012 to work for the rights of Nepali artists scattered around the world and to promote Nepali culture, language, literature, and art around the world. It has established branches in about 73 countries so far.
