The 14th 'European Film Festival Nepal 2025' has concluded. The festival, which was held from November 28 to 30, screened 25 films.

 This edition will feature ‘Banjo’ from Portugal, ‘Happy’ from Austria, ‘Without Air’ from Hungary, and ‘The Girl from Tomorrow’ from France and Italy. BAFTA nominated ‘Wonder to Wonder’, ‘Rock Paper Scissors’, ‘Mugs Christmas’, ‘Milk’ and ‘Adios’ were the highlights of the festival. Most of the shows were housefull. According to the organizers, 100 viewers watched the film and 5,000 viewers attended the festival. Out of the 25 films screened at the

festival, 10 were European and 6 were short films nominated for the UK BAFTA award. Nine films were selected from Nepal.

‘What Grows in Thari Mile’s Viewable Garden’, ‘Chandani’, ‘Abyss’, ‘Eternal Kinship’, ‘The Kathmandu’, ‘Silent Stars’, ‘Grandma’s Magic Come’, ‘Orchestra’, ‘A Bleak Home’ were screened on the Nepali side of the festival. This year, out of the 50 films submitted by film students, 9 films were selected.

Three Nepali films participating in the festival were awarded for their strong storytelling and creative aspects. Patrika Ghimire’s ‘What Grows in Thari Mile’s Village’ won the best student film. Director Patrika won a ‘voucher’ worth Rs 50,000 as a gift for the best student film. She will receive material assistance of the same amount from the organizers. Similarly, Nirakar Bhakta Rai’s ‘Grandma’s Magic Come’ and Aakriti Dhungana’s ‘Abyss’ received a special jury mention at the festival. They received certificates from the organizers.
