The historic Friday Hatiya premises of Khandbari Municipality-9, Tumlingtar, became abuzz with music and songs on Friday evening. The musical atmosphere was heated as local and national level artists came together on the same stage on the occasion of 'Khemraj Smriti Sanjh-2082'.
The event, organized by Tumlingtar Sporting Club, saw more than a dozen famous and local artists warming up the stage, and the audience was seen clapping, dancing and cheering enthusiastically.
The main attraction of the event was popular singer Rachna Rimal, who won the hearts of the audience by performing half a dozen hit songs including 'Balchhi Kadai', 'Aina Darpanma' and others. The venue erupted in applause and booing as her performance began. Folk singer Kamalikant Bhetuwal warmed up the stage even more by singing 'Jhamke Guleli'.
The enthusiasm and performances of local talents were also not lacking. Artists including Umang Lama, Surendra Pulami, Tika Magar, Virat Tamang, Dakhin Rai, Apan Shrestha, Navin Dahal, Sunita Tamang, Sushant Magar, Yam Kumar Ghimire, Pasang Ghising and Manish Gadaili gave continuous attractive performances.
In particular, the rock fusion performance of Care and the Lunga Band and the energetic stage expression of Virat Tamang captivated the young audience.
As the evening wore on, the stage lighting and sound made the atmosphere even more magical. The audience was seen humming along with their favorite artists with their mobile flashes.
This year's program was planned to be held during the Manakamana Ekadashi Mela, but due to incessant rain and adverse weather conditions, it was postponed to Friday.
The late singer Khemraj Gurung will be organizing this program every year to honor his contribution to Nepali music, culture and literature, said the organizing club's chairman, Devendra Ghimire.
