Popular faces of South Indian cinema are set to work together again after 46 years. Actor Kamal Haasan has announced a new project with Rajinikanth through his production house, Raajkamal Films International.

Kamal Haasan on Wednesday took to social media to announce his plans to make a new film with Rajinikanth. The film is titled 'Thalaivar 173'. The film will release in 2027.

The film will be directed by Sundarasi. Kamal Haasan and R. Mahendran will jointly produce the project.

Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan had worked together in the 1979 film 'Alavuddhinam Athabootha Vilakkum'.

After that, their pair also achieved good success in films like 'Purva Raagangal' and '16 Vyaathinile'.
