Popular band Nepathya is set to hold a concert in Pokhara under the auspices of Nepal Premier League (NPL) franchise team Pokhara Avengers. The concert will be held at the Pokhara Stadium on Kartik 21 with the slogan 'Nepathya for Cricket'.
Pokhara Avengers President Subodh Tripathi said that the concert is being organized with the aim of connecting cricket with music. ‘There are no tickets for concert entry,’ said President Tripathi, ‘Supporters who buy Pokhara Avengers jerseys will get entry to the concert. We are happy to be associated with the legendary band Nepathya in the development of cricket.’
Pokhara supporters can purchase jerseys from Nepathya’s website to enter the concert. The regular price of Pokhara Avengers jerseys is Rs 1,499. However, the team had decided to give jerseys to the first 1,000 supporters who come to purchase jerseys for the concert for just Rs 999. The organizers have stated that all the jerseys have been sold from 6 pm on Thursday to 7 am on Friday.
‘We are excited by the love and enthusiasm for Pokhara Avengers and Nepathya,’ said Pokhara Avengers President Subodh Tripathi, ‘Selling 1,000 jerseys in 13 hours is a matter of pride for both cricket supporters and music lovers of Pokhara. We are happy to collaborate with the legendary band Nepathya in the development of cricket.’
According to President Tripathi, the funds raised from the concert are intended to distribute cricket kits to community schools in Gandaki.
The trophy tour of the second edition of the NPL, which will start on November 1, is currently underway. While displaying the trophy in Pokhara on Tuesday, Nepathya’s lead singer Amrit Gurung recalled that Pokhara had no infrastructure for sports 50 years ago and said that the stadium built in Pokhara has added energy to players and sports lovers. ‘The level at which Nepali cricket is at is something to be proud of. The preparations and matches ahead should be aimed at winning the World Cup. "We wish you all the best," he said.
