On the occasion of Vijayadashami, the hymn 'Navadurga Bhavani' has been released. Rashtriya Folk Bhajan Chutka Culture Preservation Foundation, Nepal, General Secretary of Bagmati Province Committee Tekraj Pokharel has taken out the bhajan.
The hymn, which has the words of Dhana Pokharel, has the voices of Rabindra Pokharel, Hariprasad Pokharel, Saru Neupane Pokharel, Kaushila Pokharel and Bhaktiram Pokharel along with Pokharel. The video was directed by Vipin Anuragi.
'We have tried to make the Vijayadashami festival more religious, cultural and entertaining through this bhajan of Navdurga Bhawani,' General Secretary Pokharel said, 'The bhajan is expected to strengthen the reverence and faith towards Goddess Durga by connecting the existing folk traditions and beliefs in Nepali society.'
After Vijayadashami, he said that another bhajan is being prepared in the song 'Bansuri Harayo Mero Khojideu Na' about Gopini relationship during Krishna Leela . The tradition of singing folk bhajans is still alive in mountainous districts such as Arghakhanchi, Palpa, Gulmi, Pyuthan, Syangja and Nawalparasi, Rupandehi, Kapilvastu areas of Terai.
