On the occasion of its 4th anniversary, the popular Saru Sangeet Ghar at Tikathali in Lalitpur will present this year's Saru Sangeet National Award to folk singer and artist Kavita Ale.

She has been active in the field of folk music for more than five decades and is going to be honored for making a special contribution through original creations. This award is a distinguished artist and philanthropist. Founded in memory of Saru (Saraswati) Niraula by her husband musician Komal Niraula and family. Denny Niraula, the eldest son and musician, informed that after establishing Akshaya Kosh of five lakh rupees last year, award distribution has been formally started from this year. The coordinator of the

talent selection committee is composer Komal Niraula, while the members include senior musician Surya Thulung, senior singer Lochan Bhattarai and writer Dr. Ratnamani is from Nepal. Denny Niraula is the member secretary of the committee . 

A prize of 25,000 cash will be awarded during a special ceremony on Saturday, August 14.
