Prominent Israeli actor Alon Abutbul died on Tuesday at the age of 60.

He died on Habonim beach in northern Israel, the Times of Israel reported. According to the Magen David Adom (MDA) rescue service, he fell unconscious on the beach. The rescue team tried to save him but were unsuccessful .

He has been active in the Israeli film and television industry for more than four decades. He has also won many awards in his career.

Internationally, he has also played important roles, including his roles in Stefan Spielberg's 'Munich' and the 2012 blockbuster film 'The Dark Knight Rises'.

He returned to Israel after completing a month-long filming of the Israeli film 'When Clouds Fall' in Mustang, Pokhara and Kathmandu in Nepal last May. Nepalese actress Menuka Pradhan shared the screen with her.
