Radio Kantipur honored senior music scholar Raju Singh on Saturday as part of the program 'Salam Jiundo Itihasalai'. Singh, who has been active in music for almost 4 decades, was honored during a program on Radio Kantipur.
Pawan Acharya, station manager of the radio, presented Singh with a letter of honour. Honored by wearing dosalla. Singh, who got into music under the influence of his father, senior musician Bhagat Singh, used to sing songs during his school days. However, later he became famous as a musician.
Singh says, 'I studied music later because of my father's inspiration that I should study whatever profession I choose. Maybe that's why they made me Raju Singh.'
Singh's family atmosphere is musical. Sister Dhanusha Singh is also a singer and brother Kalyan Singh is a renowned musician of the youth generation. Singh has given music not only to Nepali singers, but also to Pakistani Ghulam Ali and Indian Asha Bhosle.
