National Music Awards 2081 (NMA), the prestigious award program of the music sector, is organizing a musical concert with the awards, including the audience for the first time. In this program organized by Radio Kantipur every year, this year 10 famous artists of the young generation are performing on the same stage.

Kum Sagar and Durgesh Thapa are performing together for the first time at the Godavari Sunrise Conference Center on 28 June. Along with the performances of these two who are the center of attraction, there will be special performances by young singers Swapn Suman, Sushant Ghimire, Wangden Sherpa, Asmita Adhikari, Elina Chauhan and Pashupati Sharma along with Cartoon Crew, Sundar Khanal and Sujitha Shrestha. Spectators interested in participating in the program can purchase tickets from eSewa.  According to the organizers, more than 3,000 viewers are expected at the

event. Tickets are priced at Rs 1,500 for general public and Rs 5,000 for VIPs. Awards will be distributed in 14 categories in the program. Similarly, the Long Sadhana Samman (Lifetime Achievement Award) will be awarded to artists who have contributed to the music industry for a long time. Last year, the honor was given to pop emperor Omvikram Bista. Om captivated the audience with his timeless songs.

Radio Kantipur is active in the development of music and is doing National Music Awards to promote the music sector. Radio Kantipur is announcing the top five nominations by holding a press conference on Friday. It is said that the nominations in various categories will be announced from the songs performed throughout the year.

Kantipur Publications Corporate Manager Simran Shrestha said that a grand musical program with a red carpet was organized for the first time for the general public as well. "In Nepal, there is no prestigious award program of this kind that honors the artists who have contributed to the music sector and includes the young generation, so Radio Kantipur has started NMA considering the need to honor the artists who have contributed to this field," says Shrestha. From Durgesh Thapa to Kum Sagar, we are putting them on one stage. I request all the audience to participate in this grand event.'

Radio Kantipur has been distributing royalties to artists in the music sector since its inception and has been conducting 'National Music Awards' for the past 8 years. The station manager of Radio Kantipur, Pawan Acharya, says that this program, which was previously organized to give royalty to the creator, started NMA after realizing the need for a comprehensive award program.

"From the time of establishment, we used to give royalty only to the creator on the anniversary of Radio Kantipur, then we used to give royalty by choosing the top 10 songs, now we give the royalty to the society in one lump sum," says Acharya, "we started a program called Arnus from 065, we started distributing National Award from 071/72. Earlier, we used to give awards only to the songs played on the radio. Now, by keeping two levels of judges, we also give awards to songs that have been published in areas other than radio.'
