'Ankha' Awarded at Italy Festival, Smita Best Actress

The Nepali film 'Ankha' directed by Jaun Yonjan won the Best Film and Best Actress awards at the prestigious 29th International Polis Awards Arts Festival (IPAAF) in Italy.

According to director Yonjan, the organizers have sent an invitation to participate in the ceremony while informing about the award through email. Actress Smita Lamichhane, the main character of the film, after winning the best actress award, said that this achievement is the result of the team's hard work. "The hard work done by me and our team for this film has paid off," she responded.

The IPAAF award ceremony is scheduled to be held on September 14 in Bergamo, Italy.

Earlier, 'Ankha' had won three awards in the Nepal International Film Festival (NIF) under the national film competition with the best plot. The

film 'Ankha' was released on October 11 last year. But at the same time, due to floods and landslides in different parts of Nepal, there was loss of people's wealth and that affected the performance of the film, director Yonjan said.

director Jaun Yonjan's next film 'Ma Rajesh Hamal' is currently preparing for release. Actress Smita Lamichhane has the lead role in the film. Similarly, director Yonjan is directing the new film 'Role Number One' under the Seven Seas Cinema banner, which produced 'Poorna Bahadur Ko Sarangi'.
