On the occasion of its 25th anniversary, the Film Development Board has released the list of highest grossing films in the last 25 years. In the program, the board has announced that the poster of Nepal's first film 'Aama' has been included in the postage stamp.
According to the list given by the board, Purna Bahadur's Sarangi is on the first line of the list earning more than 46 crores, while 'Kabaddi 4' has earned more than 21 crores and occupies the second place.
12 villages, Chhakka Panja 4, Zari, Chhakka Panja, Mahajatra and other films are ranked 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th respectively. Unko Sweeter, which is also showing, has been ranked 12th among the worldwide grossing films .
actress Keki Adhikari starrer film 'Boksi Ko Ghar' is ranked 14th in the list with earnings of 10 crores. On the 25th place in this list is 'Pashupati Prasad 2-Bhashme Don' directed by Dipendra K Khanal. This film has earned more than 7 crores.
Pujaar Sarki, Prem Geet 3, Pardeshi 2, Anjila Sedi Manag Bad, Chha Maya Chhapakkai, Shatru Ghate are also among the highest grossing films.
'Aama' postage stamp unveiling was attended by movie actresses Bhuvan Chand, Chaitya Devi, Bashundhara Bhusal, Communications Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung, Board Chairman Dinesh DC, Director General of Postal Services Department Manmaya Bhattarai Pangeni . The ticket has the picture of the main actor and actress of the film printed on it. According to the board, this ticket has been published for the screening of Nepali films at 10 rupees.
Communication Minister Gurung also informed that October 15 has been declared Film Day in the program. "On the occasion of 60 years of glorious history of movies, we have announced movie day on October 15, 2082 as per the decision of the Cabinet on June 13, keeping in mind the screening date of movie mother," he said.
