In collaboration with the British Council, Dhaulagiri Films has screened the films of Nepali filmmakers in the UK in Nepal.
The films of filmmakers Tara Manandhar, Swek Rai, Susanna Kada Limbu, Maximus Limbu and Srish Gurung were shown inside the council in Lainchour. Asmita Sreesh's film was also shown in this program titled 'Reel Connections'.
The event was inaugurated in the presence of the British Ambassador to Nepal, Rob Fenn. Ben said at the opening ceremony that he wanted to learn from the commentary produced by these British films. The films shown showed how the Nepalis in Britain are establishing their identity in film work apart from the British Gurkhas.
Swek's film 'The People's Closet to Heaven Takes' covered the topic of how Nepalis in Britain are questioning identity. Tara Manandhar's 'Top Ten London' covered the different culture of immigrants, while Asmita Sreesh's film included a different topic of women . After the screening of the
film, an interaction was held on that film . Nhuj Tuladhar, art head of the council, expressed happiness that Nepalis from different regions participated in this program. The Council organized this event to connect the UK and Nepal. 6 films made in Britain were shown in the program.
