The 'Nepal-US International Film Festival 2025' has started in Maryland, USA. The festival started with the screening of the film 'Shambala' directed by Meen Bham.
31 films including feature films, documentaries, short films and animations from 15 countries including Nepal, America, Iran, Mexico, Saudi will be screened at the festival. Films of the four-day festival will be screened at AFI Silver Theater as well as at Greenbelt Cinema Theatre. The festival will conclude with the screening of the film 'Pooja Sir' directed by Deepak Rauniar.
In the interaction after the performance of 'Shambala', Meen shared his experience about the work done with the artist. 'We watched him for 5 years to work with his sister who played the lead role. I used to invite him twice every month for dinner. I wanted to understand his innermost secrets,' said Meen, 'how to bring him into the character was worked on. Apart from some actors, others were non-actors with him. At that time, we camped close in Dolpa, where they were not even allowed to make phone calls. They had a hunger for acting.'
