Actress Rekha Thapa has decided to step on stage for the first time after 25 years of film career. While making a decision, the scenes of the past started to roll in his eyes like a film reel.
She made her film debut with ``Hero'' as a teenager and worked in many memorable films. She appeared as a fighter at a time when only heroes were fighting on the screen against injustice. Rekha is currently standing in a new round of life's rounds. This is a new ghumti after the birth of daughter Vaibhav Rajyalakshmi. From where I am starting my next chapter,' says Rekha.
She will be seen in the role of Meera in the first play of Kantipur Theater to be staged from the 15th. Coincidentally, Rekha, who started acting as a teenager yesterday, is returning to acting as a teenager. "In the play, I am also seen as 18-year-old Meera," says Rekha.
In the early days of her acting career, she had to play the role of a mature girl. He should have worked harder to look older than his age. In terms of drama, it is exactly the opposite. "I'm trying to make myself look like a teenager." It is becoming natural," she says.
Rekha has never been offered a drama before. But she could not spare time in her busy career. "I didn't have time after being asked to give more than a month. Not even now." Vaibhavi should be given time. On top of that, I am preparing for the shooting of my own film Kali," says Rekha referring to what inspired her, "but I wanted to put myself on the stage . I wanted to make life memorable even later.' Before hearing the
story, Rekha was not ready for drama. When she heard, then she decided unconditionally . This is what I will do. It felt like Let's live Meera's life for a month,' says Rekha.
It's been a month since Mira lived happily. What is Meera that Rekha understands? She says, "Very revolutionary". Very rebellious . I don't even find myself in that Meera.' Rekha's realization made it difficult to live as Meera, but also proud.
Rekha thought that the theater was like a new school. Living the life of the character felt like a rebirth. "The interesting thing is that I found the same energy in the line of 057 and the current line," she compares. Initially, the rehearsals threw Rekha into a frenzy. The actors of the theater were proficient in acting . She became nervous after seeing their work. All accustomed. I was ashamed to see . For more than a week, I just watched. The director is scared. But gradually I opened up," she shares her experience. The director of the
drama Sundar Dhital shares his experience of putting Rekha on the stage, "When we first read the play, we remembered her." But does she agree? They were confused. But after hearing the story, he was ready. What we didn't think about, we were happy,' says Sundar .
However, the work and process of the theater is very different from that of the screen . How to hire a star artist? What about time management? They were afraid. They explained the line . He did not come as a line from the very beginning. He came as Mira,' Sundar expresses happily, 'He came as a student to learn.'
Rekha entered the rehearsal room at 10 o'clock in the morning.
Now it's time for staging . Kantipur Film Academy's play house, Gaihridhara, is eagerly waiting for Rekha to appear on stage as Meera. She received many accolades in her film career. She won prestigious awards . But this step of his on stage is a step . From the first step, she wants to start a new career in math . In the past, she herself did not keep a record of past works. But now she wants to keep a document for her daughter Vaibhavi too. "Not only the audience, but also the daughter should appreciate her mother's work," says Rekha happily.
