The district audition of the first Gandaki Loktara is over. Out of 15 contestants, three singers have been selected from the audition held at Kushma on Saturday. Opsan Vishwakarma, Shobha Periyar and Prakash Poudel Kshattri are among those selected.

Pooja Karki Sharma, the district president of the National Folk and Dual Song Institute, said that the District Audition Round organized by the District Working Committee of Parbat has been completed. She says that those selected will be taken to Pokhara on June 7 to participate in more competitions. 

'Even though there is a voice capable of singing folk songs, there is an opportunity for an anonymous creator due to lack of finances', she said, 'Singers/singers selected from the districts of Gandaki province compete for the title.' She also said that the winner of the first Gandaki Loktara will be announced on the occasion of Music Day on June 7. 

The singer/singer who wins the title of first Gandaki Loktara will receive 51 thousand 111 thousand rupees. Along with this, the winner will also get to record a free song. The second, third and consolation contestants will receive 31 thousand 111, 21 thousand 111 and 11 thousand 111 rupees respectively. 

The first Gandaki Loktara held for the preservation of folk culture, respect for the creator and encouragement of new talents will have a competition of singers from Kaski, Syangja, Parbat Baglung, Myagdi Tanahun, Gorkha, Lamjung and Nawalpur.
