The story shown in the trailer focuses on family disintegration caused by smartphone addiction, parental neglect and growing distance between parents and children. The
movie stars Ayushi Dhakal along with Sunil Pokharel, Varsha Sivakoti, Vishal Pokharel, Bholaraj Sapkota, Janvi Basnet, Jenish Shrestha and Jayvish Shrestha. According to Bhattarai, the director of the
film, 'Jhilko' is an attempt to make the audience aware of the dangers caused by careless use of technology through the journey of a girl's digital addiction. Bhattarai, who previously directed a historical and social message film like 'Jhola', said that he chose this story to show the need for coordination between children, parents, teachers, and policy makers. Produced under the banner of
Media for Culture Pvt Ltd, the cinematography of the film is done by Deepak Bajracharya, editing by Nimesh Shrestha, color and sound mixing by Shyam Kunwar, and sound design by Uttam Neupane. The story and screenplay of the movie has been prepared by Yadav Kumar Bhattarai along with Arundev Joshi and Dev Vrat .
